Now that I have annotated 4 music videos from a variety of genres of our choice I am now going to annotate a video that has no meaning or story behind the song. I will also annotate this video to show the difference within a good video that has a story with in the video and within the lyrics and a video that may have a meaning but is not shown within the video.
A very popular music video at the moment is Gangnam Style by PSY. In my opinion this music video has no story line behind; it refers to objects in the video that are said by the singer.

After watching this music video I have seen that to make a effective music video you have to have a story/meaning behind the music and lyric, this way the audience feels more involved as they will have emotions for the characters in the story, if we are able to control how the audience feels by the way we make our story to the music then we know that we have made a successful music video. From previous theory media lessons I already know of common conventions that would be good to use to attract our target audience of both male and female, such as the gaze theory, common fashion/style conventions and more all this will help me create a successful music video.
From other music videos that I have annotated I have seen that most music videos now days are to do with relationships either breaking up or getting back together family argument, friends and more. From this I feel it would be a good idea to do a music video with the back story being about relationship preferably a young couple and there problems, as this seems to be a popular back story to certain music videos.
